The Chamber is a recognised authority on business decarbonisation, having developed the award-winning Chamber Low Carbon programme — one of the most successful low carbon business support initiatives in the UK.
The programme, which won the title of Best Climate Project at the 2021 World Chambers Congress, delivers tailored advice to help Lancashire businesses reduce their carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency and develop credible decarbonisation plans. Delivered in partnership with chambers across Lancashire and specialist sustainability advisors, Chamber Low Carbon has engaged with more than 1,000 small and medium enterprises across the county, making it one of the most impactful SME decarbonisation programmes in the North West.
Through its sister programme RedCAT, the Chamber also supports low carbon and renewable technology businesses to bring new products to market, find demonstrator sites and export their technologies globally. The Chamber is a vital link between Net Zero North West's industrial ambitions and the wider Lancashire business community, helping to ensure that the region's clean growth agenda benefits businesses of all sizes.
