Enterprise Cheshire and Warrington

About the company

Enterprise Cheshire and Warrington represents one of the most industrially significant sub-regions in the UK, home to a high concentration of energy-intensive manufacturers and chemical producers around Ellesmere Port. The organisation has been a founding public sector partner of Net Zero North West and has played a central role in co-ordinating the region's industrial decarbonisation cluster plan.

Cheshire and Warrington was one of the first areas in the country to develop a dedicated decarbonisation investment plan, unlocking £1 billion of capital investment, and has been a key supporter of the HyNet North West programme — the government-backed hydrogen and carbon capture cluster centred on the sub-region. Enterprise Cheshire and Warrington commissioned independent experts to develop the organisational model for the North West industrial cluster and has been instrumental in securing UKRI and government funding to support the cluster plan.

With Ellesmere Port positioned as a hub for the UK's hydrogen economy and the first all-electric vehicle manufacturing plant in the country, Cheshire and Warrington is actively positioning itself as a world leader in net zero carbon energy, innovation and technology.
