In the North West, Siemens has played a key role in shaping industrial decarbonisation strategies, most notably leading a comprehensive low-carbon roadmap for Trafford Park — one of Europe's largest industrial estates — to support Greater Manchester's ambition to reach net zero by 2038. The study identified a pathway to a 94% reduction in emissions through a combination of solar energy, waste heat recovery, hydrogen integration and district heat networks.
Siemens also works with the UK100 network of local leaders and provides clean energy planning expertise to drive decarbonisation across the region's industrial clusters. As a founding voice in Net Zero North West, Siemens continues to champion the policy and investment conditions needed to accelerate the region's transition to a low carbon economy.
