Hydrogen Production Plant 1

To aid the mission of creating the world's first decarbonised refinery, EET Hydrogen are developing Hydrogen Production Plant 1 (HPP1) at Stanlow Manufacturing Complex. Part of the HyNet North West Track 1 cluster, the 350 MW plant with CCUS will generate low-carbon blue hydrogen for use by major industrial manufacturers in the North West of England.
A number of customers are already signed up to receive hydrogen, including EET Fuels, Encirc, Pilkington Glass and Tata Chemicals Europe. Hydrogen will be transported to customers via the HyNet H2 Pipeline, being developed by Cadent Gas Limited.
HPP1 is a cornerstone project for the UK's energy transition and has recieved significant support from the UK Government. In January 2025 an EPC contract was signed with ENKA for detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of HPP1 to begin.
